Mahesh Kappanayil, Professor, Dept of Pediatric Cardiology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences
Dr. K Mahesh has worked extensively in rural communities, most extensively in north Kerala (Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod districts). He has aided pediatric cardiology training programs supported by MoH&FW in medically underserved regions of India. He is the PI in an international drug trial to address pediatric pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH), and is credited with co-discovery of a novel genetic mutation that causes a lethal arteriopathy syndrome. Dr. K Mahesh leads cardio-genetic research, advanced cardiac imaging research, and 3D modeling of complex heart conditions at AIMS.
Zuber Memon, Senior Design Engineer – Affordable Healthcare Technology, GE Healthcare
Zuber works on building affordable medical technology solutions for emerging markets. A graduate of GE’s Edison leadership program at JFWTC, he has championed technology development initiatives through crowdsourcing models, design thinking and open innovation. An IIE/GE Foundation scholar, Zuber graduated BE in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal University and is pursuing a Masters in Systems Engineering from Penn State University. Zuber is also a Visiting Faculty at Manipal University, where he mentors students on early-career readiness. He led Jugaadathon 2015 as the lead host at GE JFWTC.

Dr. Kumar Sumit is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at Manipal University. Kankana Narayan Dev is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture at Manipal University. His academic interests lie in the field of Urban Design and Development, and he has experience in “experimental housing” using sustainable methods of construction, especially Bamboo. Mr. Dev has has worked with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Assam State Disaster Management Authority on mechanisms for Disaster Mitigation and Response from 2012-14.
Dr Ramesh S Ve, Associate Professor, Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Science, Manipal University

Dr Ramesh.S.Ve completed MPhil, PhD, recipient of Indo-US Public Health Research fellowship for post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. He has 53 research articles and 1 patent. He has developed semi-automated glaucoma image analysis software (CyOptique-GL), and is the recipient of Biotechnology Ignition Grant, BIRAC. He was promoted to first faculty startup VISINT Healthcare Pvt Ltd. His work on cost effective portable imaging device OcuDA, won the Gold Medal for best innovation at the DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme-2013, where he currently serves as a mentor.

Narsim Buntval is an accomplished technical professional, with several years of experience in all facets of business analytics and software engineering in diverse business domains. His background includes business development, marketing, brand management, project management, customer service and vendor relations. He is also well-versed in scoping projects to formulate strategies toward process integration. Mr. Buntval is an expert at developing and implementing business models in multiple business domains while managing user experience.
Anand KM, Selection Grade Lecturer in Microbiology, Melaka Manipal Medical College (Manipal campus)
Anand KM teaches medical microbiology for MBBS and BDS students at Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC). His areas of research include bactrtiology and medical education with a focus on PBL, CBL, student learning, student assessment and mentorship. He also holds student council, examination, admissions and administrative responsibilities at MMMC. Anand has published 12 papers and conducted several workshops, and completed his FAIMER fellowship and serves as a regional faculty for PSG FAIMER and MUFIILIPE, Manipal. He is also the Warden for the boys hostel at MU Hostels and has worked as Chief Warden of MU Health Sciences hostels.
